ONE Day ONE Cares Community Service Day with Realty One Group Inclusion

Last week, my office participated in a beach clean-up day at Tybee Island as part of the Realty One Group ONE Day, a community service oriented event across all brokerages under the Realty One name. It was an eye-opening experience. We arrived early in the morning with gloves and trash bags ready to pick up litter on the beach. As we walked along the sand, we were shocked at how much trash we found despite there being several clean ups since the infamous “Orange Crush” weekend – everything from Styrofoam cups bits and food wrappers to cigarette butts and even broken glass.

Myself and other Realty One Group Inclusion Agents ready to clean those beaches!

Despite the amount of litter, we were determined to make a difference. We split into teams and scoured the beach for trash, filling up our bags with the debris we found. It was hard work, but we knew it was worth it to help keep our oceans clean and protect the wildlife that calls them home.

As we worked, we were also reminded of the impact that our everyday actions have on the environment. Seeing so much trash on the beach was a sobering reminder that every piece of litter we throw away can end up in our oceans, where it can harm marine life and damage the ecosystem.

But there was also a sense of hope in our work. By picking up the trash on the beach, we were taking a small step towards a cleaner, healthier planet. When you live so close to such an incredible place, it’s easy to forget just how awesome it is as well.

At the end of the day, we were proud of what we had accomplished. We had filled numerous bags with trash, and the beach looked noticeably cleaner. But we also knew that our work wasn't done – keeping our environment clean is an ongoing effort.

We left the beach that day with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to continue making a difference. We hope that our actions inspire others to do the same and take care of our planet. We all have a role to play in protecting our environment, and every small action counts.
